Dear Friends and Family,
On Saturday, September 13, I will be participating in BIKE HSS to benefit the Hospital for Special Surgery, where I am currently conducting research as a graduate student in Dr. Lionel Ivashkiv’s lab.
Our lab is dedicated to understanding the molecular and cellular drivers of inflammatory and musculoskeletal diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. We study how inflammatory factors regulate the activation and function of immune cells and how these cells and signals orchestrate disease onset and progression. Ultimately, our goal is to integrate basic scientific research of these inflammatory pathways with translational research using disease models and human disease samples to uncover mechanisms driving disease, and to develop new therapeutic strategies for inflammatory and musculoskeletal diseases.
If you're curious to learn more, you can visit Dr. Ivashkiv’s lab page, or feel free to reach out—I’d love to share more about my work in the lab.
Musculoskeletal issues are among the leading causes of disability, affecting more than one in every two adults in the US. Funds raised through BIKE HSS will accelerate Hospital for Special Surgery's efforts to:
- Advance groundbreaking research for new and better treatments.
- Provide patients with life-changing care, from diagnosis through recovery.
- Empower a global exchange of expertise and educate the next generation of clinician-scientists.
Please consider supporting my page—your donation will contribute to essential research that holds real promise for patients’ lives.
Join the MOVEment!
