Dear Friends,
On Saturday, September 13, I'll be riding 25 miles in BIKE HSS with Team HSS ARJR.
Musculoskeletal issues are among the leading causes of disability worldwide.
This year is incredibly special for me, as I am raising funds for Team ARJR's Operation Walk mission which will take place in June 2026. Operation Walk performs life changing hip and knee surgeries around the world to restore mobility for individuals with limited access to specialized orthopedic care. It was founded by the late Larry Dorr, a pioneering hip surgeon and mentor to many of us at HSS.
Fred Cushner, MD and I, along with our HSS colleagues, are thrilled to inaugurate the HSS ARJR Operation Walk mission next year. We will perform surgeries in Guatemala to restore mobility for individuals, many of whom have been living with debilitating musculoskeletal issues for decades, with limited access to this type of specialized care. Your support of my BIKE HSS will fund this mission, including the supplies and equipment needed, to ensure our patients across the globe get back to what they need and love to do.
Please consider a donation to my page. Together, we can help restore mobility and hope to countless patients around the world who rely on HSS.
Join the MOVEment.
Thank you for your consideration.
All the best,
Dr. Matthew Austin
